Level 1: Jumpstart your journey with an introduction to vehicle construction and basic maintenance for light vehicles. This foundational level provides an overview of the automotive sector and equips you with essential health and safety knowledge, setting a solid base for your technical growth.
Level 2: Elevate your expertise with intermediate training that includes the removal and replacement of light vehicle engine units and components, as well as auxiliary electrical and chassis units. This level enhances your diagnostic skills, particularly in identifying engine faults, preparing you for more complex challenges.
Level 3: Focuses on comprehensive diagnostics and rectification of engine, chassis, and auxiliary electrical faults. This level will also cover the skills in supervision and workshop management, preparing you for leadership roles in vehicle maintenance environments. Completing a qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at Level 1, 2 and 3 can lead to a range of exciting and rewarding career opportunities in the automotive industry. You could become a Light Vehicle Technician, using your skills to diagnose, repair and service a wide range of light vehicles. Or you could pursue a career as a MOT Tester, responsible for testing vehicle components for safety, functionality and reliability. With further experience, you could even become a Master Technician, a Workshop Supervisor or a Garage Manager, overseeing operations and ensuring high standards are maintained. These qualifications also provide a solid foundation for roles in automotive engineering, vehicle parts sales or roadside assistance and recovery.
